Dr. Amy Dixon-Jiménez returns to Colorado as a member of the CVCA team at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital. She joined our team after practicing cardiology for the past eight years at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine.
After graduating from the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002, Dr. Dixon-Jiménez practiced as an associate veterinarian in general practice in Colorado for three years. She moved to Florida and then Kansas while her husband completed his internship and residency in veterinary radiology. While in Kansas, Dr. Dixon-Jiménez was an assistant professor at the Kansas State Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital in the Pet Health Center.
In 2009, Dr. Dixon-Jiménez was accepted into a specialty cardiology internship at the University of Georgia. She stayed on as a cardiology resident and graduate student in veterinary biomedical sciences. Dr. Dixon-Jiménez became a board-certified Cardiologist in 2015 and continued working at the University of Georgia as an assistant professor until returning to Colorado in 2018.
When Dr. Dixon-Jiménez is not working she enjoys running, hiking, snowshoeing and walking her dogs.
